THE PERFECT MUSEUM OF ME
An installation exploring identity, connectedness and sense of place
The Perfect museum of Me is a 3 year collaborative project between artists and people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.
Co-produced as a series of 10 weekly workshops, our work begins with an object that is significant to each of us. Using the museum as a frame our object becomes an artefact that we research, tell stories about, and in the process learn about ourselves and each other before creating a unique artwork.
The museum(s) are then successively added to and exhibited as part of a growing installation that collectively explores who we are and where we belong.
